How the flags are made

Here is a very brief overview of the flag making process.

Stage 1

reclaimed boards are planed to the require thickness and are then cut into 13 individual strips.

Stage 2

Strips are heat treated to enhance the grain.

Stage 3

Strips are sanded ahead of having stain applied

Stage 4

Strips are stained prior to assembly

Stage 5

Strips are glued and clamped in jig

Stage 6

50 stars are CNC machined into the ‘union’.

Stage 7

Flag is sanded and laquered

Stage 7

Hanging hooks and braided steel hanging wire is added.
